Do you ever wonder if the prayers you have prayed and the tears you have shed have really made a difference? You may feel you have prayed and prayed yet still you haven't seen results? Well, I declare, your prayers matter! Whether you see it or not, God is working to bring about HIS story in hearts.
What concerns you, the cry on your heart is important to Him.You are not responsible for the outcome. You are only responsible to pray in obedience, and let Holy Spirit take care of the outcome. As you pray, you create an open heaven for Holy Spirit to show up and do the work only He can do.

I remember a season of about 8 months, where the name of a specific individual came to my mind, and when they did, I would weep over them. I couldn't understand why. Then the weeping stopped and within a few weeks, I learned that they had made a commitment to follow Jesus. God revealed to me that my prayers were for their salvation.
Your tears of intercession have effect, and are never wasted.
When our daughter was in high school, she would invite her friends over. We noticed many of them were so broken. They wore depression as a cloak, completely lost and hopeless. After meeting these young people, my heart was so impacted by their desperation, that I interceded with fasting and prayer.
One of those girls, at her lowest point, had a life changing encounter where someone came and told her God had a special purpose for her life. That word was transforming, and as she grabbed onto the truth, she rose up out of despair and hopelessness into new life and purpose in Christ.
I had very limited contact for almost 3 years with any of them, until one day I met this young lady again. She looked completely different! There was light in her eyes, and life in her voice. I felt purpose and confidence in her demeanor. And that is when I heard her story from death to life.

I was rejoicing over this miraculous turnaround, when God gave me revelation. He told me my prayers had made a difference in her life! This truth caused emotion to well up in me because just the week before I had been wondering, if my prayers really had impact. It wasn’t that I believed my prayers didn’t make a difference, it was the enemy trying to plant a seed of doubt inside my thoughts. God in his faithfulness was reassuring me, my prayers were effective and to keep going.
The enemy will try to plant seeds of doubt to get you to feel hopeless, and believe your prayers don’t matter or aren’t having any effect. Be encouraged, your prayers are important! God hears the cry of your heart. Every cry, and every tear is never wasted. The enemy wants to discourage you and make you believe that you are powerless. But that is not truth! You have been given all power and authority to trample the enemy. (Luke 10:19) And when you don’t know what to pray, the Holy Spirit will intercede on your behalf. (Rom 8:26-27)
Your cry captures the heart of Father God and He responds. Your prayers may not be answered right away, but that does not mean they are not being answered. Sometimes it just takes time. We may not have full understanding why we seemingly see that some prayers are answered and others are not. Yet, God is always working, even when we don’t see the outcome we expect, we can know His plans are good. (Psalm 100:5)
As you pray:
God is softening hearts,
aligning lives
and ordering steps,
to orchestrate a victory.
Ezekiel 22:30–31 says, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one. So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

As you stand in prayer, you are positioning yourself , so the enemy cannot penetrate through the gap. You are building the wall of refuge and preparing the way for the King of Kings to make himself known. (Psalm 24:7-10)
There are walls to repair - don’t give up - keep pushing though like Nehemiah, declaring the word of the Lord as you fashion a place of refuge.
When you feel like saying, “Why bother? What good did it do to spend that time in prayer?” When you don’t see the healing, and you wonder what difference your prayer made, Remember, YOUR PRAYERS MATTER. The time you have spent is not wasted time.
YOU make a difference when you pray!
1. You are needed now more than ever! There is a generation of young people who NEED you to pray. God is looking for those who will stand in the gap. Will you be the ONE?
2. Make your declarations! The enemy has no power over you. You have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit of God is doing.
Remember…Jesus said, in John 10:27-28, "My sheep hear my voice..." If you have accepted Christ into your life, you are His sheep and therefore you hear! When you don’t see what you expected, don’t give into despair because He works ALL things together for His good! (Rom 8:28)
